Who I am

"The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever." -Jacques Yves Cousteau

My Mission

I have experienced first hand the wonders of the sea. My dream is that more people would be exposed to those wonders. Diving can create peace, joy, entertainment, relief, and excitement. So whether a person is looking for a fun hobby or to relieve pain, diving can help. I hope this site sparks conversation about growing the dive community in Jacksonville. My blog will have all sorts of topics but will mainly focus on the dive community in Jacksonville. My main goals are:

  • Bring together and grow the dive community in Jacksonville Beach and surrounding areas that combines different SCUBA interests such as conservation, travel, and spearfishing.

  • Introduce new and seasoned divers safely to diving locally offshore Jacksonville with local dive charters.

My Certifications

PADI Master SCUBA Diver Trainer

Emergency First Response Instructor

USCG Master Captain 100 Ton

My Background

The beach has been the go-to spot for the weekends with my family growing up. On a typical weekend we would load up the car and spend a full day in the sun, sand, and sea. My parents have been SCUBA divers since before I was born which led to my interest in exploring the underwater world. At the ripe age of 10 years old, I was taking my first SCUBA lessons with Atlantic Pro Divers in Jacksonville Beach.

After certification, we would take family dive trips once or twice a year. From the Florida Keys all the way to Belize, I was blessed to get to explore the sea outside of my home. One trip to St. Croix in 2012 sparked my interest into becoming a dive professional. After enjoying dinner and spirits with a couple instructors there, I decided to move to the islands and pursue the dream. I spent my time in St. Croix learning how to guide certified divers, take newbies that had never dove before on dives, and eventually becoming an instructor and teaching people to dive. After completing my instructor and being on the island for a couple years I decided it was time for a change.

In 2015, I moved to Maine for a brief period to explore new surroundings. After a winter season (BRR) I decided it was time to move back home. In May of 2016 I moved back to my hometown and picked my SCUBA career back up as an instructor for Atlantic Pro Divers. Talk about full circle! I also had a child during that time and named her Kai (Hence the site name). I became general manager and spent 5 years watching many people learn how to dive, see new places, and grow their appreciation for the sea.
